This 1970 Porsche 911T coupe was delivered new to Mozart Porsche/Audi of Palo Alto, California and was acquired by the current owner in July 1971. Finished in silver over black leatherette, the car is powered by a 2.2-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo, “sugar scoop” headlight rings, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15” Fuchs-style alloy wheels.
The car was finished in silver (8080) from the factory and was repainted in June 1977. Exterior features include bumper overriders, US-spec chrome “sugar scoop” headlight surrounds, and blue six-digit California license plates at either end.
Reproduction 15” Fuchs-style alloy wheels were installed during current ownership and are mounted with 185/65 Dunlop D60 A2 tires. The car rides on Bilstein shocks out back, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs. The front calipers were rebuilt in 2016.
The cabin features seats trimmed in black leatherette with a matching dashboard, door panels, and salt-and-pepper carpets that were replaced in 2009. Amenities include a VDO analog clock, a locking glovebox, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo. Wear is noted on the driver’s seat, and the driver-side map pocket is loose per the seller.
A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of VDO instrumentation that includes a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer is said to have rolled over once and shows 37k miles.
The 2.2-liter flat-six was factory rated at 140 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. An engine rebuild was carried out approximately 32k miles ago in 1982, the carburetors were overhauled in 2006, and the battery was replaced in 2020. Oil leaks at the transmission and valve covers are noted by the seller.
